Katrin Hochschuh & Adam Donovan: CURIOUS TAUTOPHONE – TENSOR FIELD ONTOLOGY

This robotic installation with responsive projection is as much an apparatus of art as it is a tool for music and an instrument of psychology and physics. Tautophone is a reference to the projective “auditory Rorschach” tests developed by psychologists Skinner, Rosenzweig, and Shakow in the 1930s and 1940s, while Curious here refers to the robot's motivation to explore its surroundings and to learn.

NON-NARRATIVE VIDEO ART / Anka Leśniak / lecture

Feminist Art of Mine. Personal Video Narratives

The lecture was a presentation of my video works made from 2004 to the present. They are based on my experiences from the perspective of gender, corporeality, power relations and political-historical-social mechanisms. As an artist-researcher, I also conduct artistic research on women who are not located in history, whose biographies are sometimes difficult to accept in a patriarchal society. The background of the presentation is, comparatively, the works of Polish artists from my generation and the generation of pioneers of feminism.

Anka Leśniak

Born in 1978 in Bielsko-Biała, artist, researcher, graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (2004) and History of Art at the University of Łódź (2003), an associate professor in the Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, lives and works in Łódź and Gdańsk.

Her interests include artistic research, site-specific art, video and performance, especially in the context of feminist issues and art in public spaces. Her performative works explore themes related to memory, symbolic reconstruction, herstory, ethnic and cultural identity, migration, and language.

She is the author of the cycles Body Printing (since 2007), Top Models (2009), Fading Traces (2010), Invisible inVisible (2015-2016) Women patRIOTs (2016-2020), Lost Element/Re-construction of the Witch (since 2019).
